Eligibility Requirements

To be considered by The Goizueta Foundation for a grant, your organization must:

  • Be classified as a public charity and tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code;
  • Benefit Georgia.  The Foundation supports programs and organizations within the state of Georgia;
  • Not receive significant funding support from government.  The Foundation does not provide support to organizations that are;

  • Agencies of Government (i.e. public schools, libraries)
     with the exception of public universities and colleges;

  • Substantially financed through taxation (i.e. city or        
    county agencies, police departments).

  • Include the national office, if applicable, when submitting your organizational overview to The Foundation.

Organizations NOT considered include:

  • Advocacy
  • Animal Protection and Wildlife Preservation (including zoos and aquariums)
  • Arts and Cultural Organizations, non pre-selected
  • Churches
  • Civil Rights, Social Action, and Advocacy
  • Community Improvement (including community action agencies and chambers of commerce)
  • Conservation/Environments (including environmental education, gardens, and nature centers)
  • Emergency Disasters and Safety
  • Food, Nutrition, and Agriculture
  • Health Related and Medical Research
  • Housing Development
  • International Organizations
  • Legislative or Lobbying Associations
  • Membership Benefit
  • Mental Health, Counseling, and Crisis Intervention
  • Professional Associations
  • Public Foundations and Community Funds
  • Public Policy and Affairs
  • Public School Districts
  • Public Schools (including charter schools)
  • Recreational and Social Clubs (including camps)
  • Religious Organizations and/or Religious Orders (with the exception of pre-selected, accredited schools)
  • Temporary Homeless Shelters
  • Youth and Family Homes, non pre-selected

The Foundation reserves the right to make grants to pre-selected organizations with which The Foundation has a historical relationship.  This may include organizations that fall outside The Foundation's current areas of interest and geographic parameters.
